GreatLifemates.com (GLM): live July 2009

For years I have helped people worldwide with relationships both in person and through the website I created in 1998 ... LoveIsGreat.com. Finally, I decided to try and put together a site that concentrates just on those wanting to find their life-mate.

Most of the dating sites I have visited were more interested in increasing the number of profiles they can boast about and luring in people to pay them money, than they were in providing a good place for people to find a life-mate. People who were members of these dating sites often had different goals, some wanted a date, some wanted companionship, some wanted a playmate or one-night-stand, some were serious, and a lot were scamming or there to spam porn sites.

For this site, everyone who joins should have the same goal: a life-long relationship with a mate. We review the profiles for completeness and any indication that someone is not sincere. We also require at least access to a webcam (found at many public places like internet cafes) and a member having their own free account to an instant messaging service (AIM, Skype, Yahoo! Messenger), so that we can verify who they are and interview if needed. Plus, an "instant messaging webcam conversation" makes for a good prelude to a first date and can keep alive relationships that are short on in-person meeting availability.

In our profiles the questions we ask might be a bit different too. We try to cover information that would be real good to know about a person before getting into a relationship. Areas that might be "relationship-breakers" if minds aren't in agreement.

Some sites use pysch tests to determine compatibility. That is fine, but we ask the questions of key areas so that you can get a good idea of yourself and of what works in a relationship for you! A bit of self-discovery that can make finding a true life-mate easier ... you have a better feeling for what works and doesn't work.

Plus we ask for Testimonials. Having family, friends, co-workers who have known a member for some time make their statements about the members. The testimonials show how others view a member. On a spot-check basis we will ask members for contact information so we can verify the statements.

We are also taking onboard relationship counselors and coaches so that members can easily find professionals who might ease the path to an awesome relationship.

The goal of this site is not to get people together for relationships ... but to have people find and stay in relationships for life ... happy relationships!
